Summer time

Welcome to Session 6!

Welcome to summer session,

Thank you for your continued support of GTCO and your child.  GTCO strives to provide programs to set your child on a journey of a lifetime of healthy habits by using the challenges of athletics.  From our earliest childhood education programs to our seniors on the cheer squad we hope to instill the fun of athletics and the focus, determination and patience needed to succeed outside the gym as well.

Keep your eyes open as this summer we hope to have some educational presentations for you the parents.  Nutrition for your athlete and fitness tips for all ages are just a couple of topics we are looking at, if you have an idea for one please let us know.  You can reach me at Comments@gtcohio.com, I welcome all ideas.

It will be a busy summer with another Cheer Try-out, JUNGLE GYMnastics camp, and preparation for our Twentieth year in business.  We look forward to kicking off the year by offering two BONUS weeks for those who sign up for Session 1 and 2.  Check the front desk, website, or watch for a class handout for information.

Hope everyone has a great summer, check the website and bulletin boards often as we unveil new class times, and prepare for the launch of JUNGLE GYM, the new name for our Pre-school gymnastics.  As always we value your input and would like to know what you would like to see added or emphasized in our programs…..send them to Comments@gtcohio.com.

The Preschool Staff would like to thank you for being a part of the GTCO Family this session! It is wonderful watching your child master skills. We hope that your child learns not only gymnastics, but also gains the self-confidence that comes with each newly learned skill! We strive to make each child feel special, challenge them with skills, and realize the importance of FUN in a learning environment! In addition to focusing on gymnastics and developing fine and gross motor skills, listening, following directions and paying attention we will also be focusing on a skill of the week, colors, and numbers! GYMKIDZ @ gtco

GymKidz PictureWe had a great first year of Extended Stay Gymnastics!  It is amazing how much each and every student learned.  We spent time playing and having a great time in the gym, jumping on the trampolines and in the inflatable, building pit forts and learning how to skip, jump rope and play kick ball.  Having the ability to utilize the space in the gym allowed us to break up the educational portions which in turn really helped each student focus on our activities involving letters, numbers, reading and math concepts!  I think all the kids increased their knowledge in all areas.  By the end of the year, all our students we very confident with all we had learned.  A big thank you to the families that joined us this year.  We couldn’t have done it without you!

For anyone that may be interested in joining us for the 2010-2011 Gymkidz program we are now accepting enrollment.  Please call or stop by the gym for more information.  Looking forward to another fantastic year!

What is TOPs?

TOPs (Talent Opportunity Program), is a competitive talent search and educational program for gymnasts ages 7-11. Girls compete in June and July of each year for the chance to compete in Houston, Texas at TOPs Nationals. Girls compete doing handstand holding, press handstands, rope climb, sprinting, vertical jump, leg lifts, cast handstands, splits, and bridges. Training TOPs is a great way to increase strength and flexibility along with improving body awareness which leads to advances in actual gymnastics skills. GTCO also now has Tiny TOPs; an introduction to TOPs for gymnasts age 4, 5, and 6. If your daughter is younger than or meets the age requirements for this program and you are interested please contact Coach Amibeth.
